And I Walk............
Movie: Into The Wild
My Take: One of the Best Biographic films ever made.
My Rating: 9/10
Beautiful, deep, real, adventurous, moving and perfect.
Sean Penn waited 10 years to make the film to make sure he had the approval from the McCandless family (the film is a biography of Chris McCandless). Is the wait worth it ?? I completely think so. He made a timeless masterpiece. You can clearly see his dedication for this work by the way he shot the movie, his writing and his selection of actors. Easily Sean Penn's best work. Its exclusion from the Oscars in the best film category is a total surprise.
First of all the plot is the hero of the movie. A well chosen subject adding to it some excellent dialogue writing makes you feel for it. Emile Hirsh gave a riveting performance as a teenage boy who is driven, industrious and at times ambitious. He completely owned the role and makes you love it. Holbrook is exceptional as old Ron. Rest of the cast is good too. All the characterisations and the relationships are lively. Narration is top notch. Narration from Chris, gives you a clear picture of his perception of life and supports his decisions and then the narration from his sister gives you the idea about his past and circumstances that made him the way he is. Edde Vedder gave some beautiful soundtracks which make you sink into the movie completely.
The movie deals with a psychological debate over the true meaning of life, relationships and happiness. It deals with the very questions that everyone asks oneself at some point of their life and Chris's search for the answers to them. The movie will haunt you for some days for sure. There are some scenes in this movie that you will never be able to forget. particularly the last scene and the scene where Chris leaves Ron were extra-ordinary. Overall the movie is a must-watch for its reality, script, performances and all the scenic beauty in it.

This summer : I'm coming for blood, no code of conduct, no law.
X-Men Origins: Wolverine
The movie is a sequel to X-men series and concerns mainly with the character of Wolverine(Hugh Jacman).
Release Date: May 1st (probable)
Plot: Wolverine lives a mutant life, seeks revenge against Victor Creed (who will later become Sabertooth) for the death of his girlfriend, and ultimately ends up going through the mutant Weapon X program.
What to expect: Action filled thriller. It'll be interesting to see how the past of Wolverine is portrayed and see the connection with other X-men movies.
Trailer:
William Stryker: Don't worry, we'll stop him.
Weapon X General: I just spent half a billion dollars making him indestructible!
Logan: I'm coming for blood, no code of conduct, no law.
Victor Creed: Do you even know how to kill me?
Logan: I'm gonna cut your goddamn head off. See if that works.

There is no charge for awesomeness... or attractiveness.
MOVIE: Kung Fu Panda
My Take: Must watch for all animation lovers
My Rating: 8/10
Deep in the heart of ancient china, the evil warrior tai lung has escaped from maximun security Chorh-Gom prison. He is returning to destroy a village and claim the dragon scroll. Only the chosen one, the dragon warroir can stop him. Yes, "THE PANDA MASTER".
It's a story of a big fat panda, who dreams of becoming a Kung Fu warrior. By accident or grand design, it's chosen as the dragon warroir and the great Kung fu master shifu has to train him.
This is a funny animation movie with great action sequences and witty one-liners. Unlike many kung fu movies, this movie is funny and have nice screen play and characterization. Jack Black's voice for Panda is exceptional.

The Worst Acclaimed-Film Ever
MOVIE: SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE
MY TAKE: It's in the title of this post
My Rating: 6/10
Unreal story.
Mediocre acting.
Out of place music.
Poor direction.
Pathetic script.
This sums up the movie for me.
If the movie is based in Mexico or Brazil, I could have liked the movie because i don't know anything about these countries. But it's based in India and the movie is pure fantasy, nothing realistic is shown.
The first negative point is language used in the movie. What is that about? I don't understand why the characters in the movie speak english. If they have to make an english movie why do they need those hindi bits and the funny accent. Theere is no depth in characters.
There are many loopholes in the script.
- An Indian who doesn't know that pictures of Gandhi are on indian currency but knows that the picture of Benjamin Franklin is on Dollar.
- Why would Salim help Latika at the end?
- Jamaal is extraordinary in English and keeps upto date information. He can answer any questions that is thrown to him. How?
- Yet he doesn't know "Satyameva Jayate" is on our coins, gandhi on our currency. Strange
This movie is mediocre. Golden globes and Oscars don't change that fact.

Are You Watching Closely?
MOVIE : THE PRESTIGE
My Rating : 9/10
My Take : Second Best Movie Ever
Genre : Drama, Mystery, Thriller
Every great magic trick consists of three parts or acts. The first part is called "The Pledge". The magician shows you something ordinary: a deck of cards, a bird or a man. He shows you this object. Perhaps he asks you to inspect it to see if it is indeed real, unaltered, normal. But of course... it probably isn't. The second act is called "The Turn". The magician takes the ordinary something and makes it do something extraordinary. Now you're looking for the secret... but you won't find it, because of course you're not really looking. You don't really want to know. You want to be fooled. But you wouldn't clap yet. Because making something disappear isn't enough; you have to bring it back. That's why every magic trick has a third act, the hardest part, the part we call "The Prestige".
This movie is like a great magic trick. First one hour is "The Pledge". Next 45 minutes is "The Turn" and the climax is "THE PRESTIGE". Christopher Nolan is not a magician, but a wizard.
Analysis : Best part of the movie is screenplay and the editing. After an excellent screenplay in memento Christopher Nolan worked his magic again, but this time it is even better. Dialogues are so well written that every dialogue has a hidden meaning. You have to watch the movie a second time to savour all the little points in the movie.
Hugh Jackman, Christian Bale played the roles of two ambitious magicians, who try to outperform each other. Each of them portrayed their characters so well that it appeared as if they are really trying to outperform each other in acting. Michael Caine is brilliant as usual.
